Dr Reza Moazzeni is a consultant cardiologist at Heartcare Sydney in Westmead, Sydney, with additional consulting rooms in St Leonards. His main clinical interests are preventive cardiology, cardiac imaging and the long-term management of heart disease.
He assesses adults with chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. He also manages coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, cardiomyopathy and heart valve disease.
Preventive cardiology is a major focus of his practice. Dr Moazzeni helps patients understand their cardiovascular risk, particularly when there is a family history of early heart disease, an inherited cholesterol disorder or elevated lipoprotein(a). His assessments bring together medical history, cholesterol and ApoB results, blood pressure and relevant cardiac investigations to guide individualised advice on lifestyle and treatment.
Cardiac imaging is central to his work, including echocardiography (heart ultrasound), stress echocardiography, and the clinical interpretation of CT coronary angiograms and coronary artery calcium scores. Echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms are available onsite at his Westmead practice, with investigations selected according to each patient’s symptoms and clinical needs.
Dr Moazzeni completed his specialist cardiology training at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, and undertook a dedicated fellowship in cardiac imaging. He has practised as a consultant cardiologist since 2013 and established Heartcare Sydney in 2016. He holds visiting cardiologist appointments at Westmead Private Hospital and Sydney Adventist Hospital.
He places particular emphasis on explaining results and treatment options clearly and working closely with each patient’s GP. He also produces educational articles, videos and clinical resources through Heartcare Sydney.
Consultations are available in English and Persian (Farsi). A referral from a GP or specialist is required.

Dr was very clear and considerate in his description of my situation. I was very anxious and he managed to explain in terms that I could understand.
I didn't have to wait long to be seen and tested by Dr Moazzeni's assistant and was promptly called to the consulting room with each of my 2 visits where everything was explained clearly. I am very happy and satisfied with the experience.
