Dr Roderick Borrowdale

Dr Roderick Borrowdale is a highly regarded Specialist General Surgeon who provides comprehensive surgical care. Dr Borrowdale is known for his approachable manner, reliability, and dedication to delivering high-quality care. His broad-based surgical practice encompasses a wide range of general surgical conditions. Dr Borrowdale has extensive experience in gastrointestinal endoscopy, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy, as well as common elective general surgical procedures. His clinical interests include the management of gallbladder disease, hernias, skin lesions, and benign colorectal disorders. Additionally, he performs procedures such as colorectal cancer surgery, breast cancer surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and the treatment of melanomas and other skin cancers.

Dr Borrowdale completed his medical degree, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from the University of Queensland in 1984. He completed his advanced surgical training in Queensland in 1992 and was subsequently admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Following this, he undertook two years of post-fellowship training in the United Kingdom, gaining valuable experience alongside world-renowned specialists in colorectal and hepatobiliary surgery. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and holds memberships with General Surgeons Australia, Breast Surgeons ANZ, the Asian Surgical Association, the Gastroenterological Society of Queensland, and the Queensland Co-operative Oncology Group.
