Dr Richard Gardner is a highly regarded Consultant Ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care for both adult and paediatric patients. With a reassuring and patient-focused approach, he is dedicated to helping individuals maintain and restore their vision. Throughout his career, Dr Gardner has held consultant positions at several major public and private hospitals, where he has managed a diverse range of complex eye conditions.

Dr Gardner completed his medical degree, obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, at The University of Western Australia. Following his graduation, he undertook his specialist postgraduate training in Ophthalmology in Perth. This rigorous training equipped him with the advanced surgical skills and clinical expertise required to deliver high-quality ophthalmic care.

In his clinical practice, Dr Gardner specialises in adult cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation, utilising modern techniques to achieve optimal visual outcomes. He also has a strong clinical interest in paediatric ophthalmology, with a particular focus on strabismus correction, commonly known as squint repair. Additionally, he performs pterygium surgery and manages general ophthalmic conditions, tailoring each treatment plan to the unique needs of his patients.
