Dr Rachel Esler

Dr Rachel Esler is a highly qualified and dedicated Urological Surgeon based in Brisbane, Australia. With a commitment to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care, she specialises in adult urology and the minimally invasive treatment of urological conditions. Dr Esler is widely recognised for her reassuring approach and clinical expertise, ensuring that patients receive personalised treatment pathways tailored to their individual health needs.

Dr Esler completed her Bachelor of Science and her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with honours at the University of Queensland. She undertook her residency and general surgery training in Brisbane and Central Queensland, before completing her Advanced Training in Urology in New South Wales. In 2011, she successfully completed her Fellowship examination in urology with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Dr Esler then pursued further specialised Fellowship training in Manchester, England, focusing on the laparoscopic treatment of urological cancers, and has also completed post-fellowship training in robotic surgery. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and holds active memberships with the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand, the American Urological Association, the European Association of Urology, and the Australian Medical Association.

In her clinical practice, Dr Esler maintains a strong focus on the laparoscopic and robotic treatment of both benign and malignant kidney diseases, kidney stone disease, and general urological conditions. Alongside her clinical work, she holds a prominent leadership role as a Director of Urology at a major tertiary teaching hospital, where she is actively involved in teaching and supervising Urology Registrars and International Medical Graduates.
