Dr William Bowes is a Urologist based in Queensland with clinical interests in robotic surgery, prostate cancer, laparoscopic and robotic renal surgery, urinary stone disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia. His practice incorporates minimally invasive approaches to urological surgery, including robotic-assisted prostatectomy and renal procedures.
Dr Bowes graduated from Stellenbosch University in South Africa in 2004 before moving to Brisbane in 2008 to undertake specialist urology training. During this training, he completed subspecialty training in robot-assisted surgery at the Queensland Robotic Surgery Unit at Greenslopes and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2017.
He also holds a Senior Lecturer position at the University of Queensland and has undertaken research examining outcomes following robot-assisted prostate cancer surgery.
