Dr Rachael Pillay

Dr Rachael Pillay is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive primary care to her patients. With a strong commitment to patient-centred care, she focuses on delivering personalised treatment plans that address the unique health needs of each individual. Dr Pillay believes in working collaboratively with her patients, ensuring they feel supported and understood when discussing any medical concerns, including sensitive or complex private matters.

In addition to her work in general medicine, Dr Pillay has developed a significant clinical focus on skin cancer medicine, dermatology, and ear, nose, and throat (ENT) medicine. She possesses extensive experience in both the surgical and non-surgical management of skin cancers, with particular expertise in performing complex facial flap and graft reconstructive surgeries. Her surgical background allows her to focus on minimising scarring and achieving optimal aesthetic outcomes, especially in cosmetically sensitive areas such as the nose, ears, and lips. Dr Pillay is also highly skilled in performing various minor surgical procedures under local anaesthetic, including ingrown toenail surgery, tongue-tie releases, and the insertion and removal of contraceptive implants.

Dr Pillay has an impressive academic background, holding a Bachelor of Science (BSc), a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), a Bachelor of Obstetrics (BAO), and a Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians (LRCP). She furthered her academic pursuits by earning a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) from the University of Queensland, where her research focused on developing models for the study and treatment of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. Dr Pillay successfully passed her surgical primary examination and was awarded her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2017.
