Dr Peter Gaden

Dr Peter Gaden is a dedicated General Practitioner who provides comprehensive primary care to patients in Mackay, Australia. He is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred healthcare across all stages of life. With a broad interest in family medicine, Dr Gaden focuses on establishing strong, supportive relationships with his patients, ensuring they receive personalised and reassuring medical guidance.

Throughout his career, Dr Gaden has developed several key areas of clinical interest. He is particularly passionate about paediatrics and supporting children with special needs, as well as providing compassionate palliative and supportive care to patients facing life-limiting illnesses. Additionally, he has extensive experience in skin cancer detection and management, including performing skin cancer checks and surgical procedures. Having previously served as a Medical Officer in the Royal Australian Navy, Dr Gaden also has a strong interest in veterans' health and is highly experienced in assisting former service members with navigating the Department of Veterans' Affairs. He is also accredited to perform both recreational and commercial dive medicals.

Dr Gaden holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. To further his expertise in child health, he completed a Diploma of Child Health. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and maintains an active membership with the South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Gaden is passionate about medical education and serves as a Supervisor for medical students from James Cook University and General Practice Registrars.
