Dr Penny Lim

Dr Penny Lim is a highly qualified Specialist Dermatologist who provides comprehensive care for a wide range of skin conditions. With a clinical focus that spans general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, she is dedicated to delivering personalised, evidence-based treatment plans for patients of all ages. Her clinical interests include skin cancer management, paediatric dermatoses, and the management of complex skin disorders. Dr Lim is particularly recognised for her expertise in advanced diagnostic techniques, such as dermatoscopy and confocal microscopy, which allow for the precise evaluation of pigmented lesions and early detection of skin cancers.

Dr Lim graduated with Honours in Medicine from the University of Malaya in 1998. She subsequently completed her post-graduate Internal Medicine Physician Training with the Royal College of Physicians of London and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2004. Following her initial clinical training, she was awarded a prestigious fellowship scholarship for advanced training in Singapore, and she obtained her Advanced Master of Dermatology from the National University of Malaysia in 2009. After relocating to Australia, she completed further intensive clinical training and was awarded a Fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2012. Additionally, she holds an International Board Certification in Dermatopathology from the European Union of Medical Specialists, which she obtained in 2011.

In her practice, Dr Lim combines her extensive clinical knowledge with a compassionate, patient-centred approach, ensuring that individuals feel supported and fully informed throughout their treatment journey. Her dual expertise as a Dermatologist and a certified Dermatopathologist enables her to achieve precise clinico-pathological correlations, leading to highly accurate diagnoses and tailored therapeutic interventions. Beyond her clinical work, she has contributed significantly to the medical community through research publications, presentations at international conferences, and her role as a State Examiner on the National Examiners Committee Board for the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
