Dr Penelope Alexander

Dr Penelope Alexander is a highly qualified and dedicated Consultant Dermatologist who provides comprehensive care for a wide range of skin, hair, and nail conditions. Known for her thorough approach and reassuring clinical manner, she is committed to building strong, collaborative relationships with her patients. Dr Alexander delivers personalised treatment plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring that patients of all ages feel supported and well-informed throughout their dermatological journey.

With extensive training across both medical and surgical dermatology, Dr Alexander has developed a diverse range of clinical interests. She is highly skilled in the detection, prevention, and management of skin cancers, utilising advanced diagnostic techniques to ensure early intervention. Her clinical expertise also spans general dermatology, paediatric dermatology, and the management of chronic inflammatory skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Additionally, she offers specialised treatments in laser therapy, photorejuvenation, and cosmetic dermatology, helping patients achieve optimal skin health and confidence.

Dr Alexander graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2006, earning a Bachelor of Science (Medicine), a Bachelor of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Surgery. Prior to her specialised training in dermatology, she completed two years of specialty training with the Royal Australian College of Anaesthetists and obtained a Diploma of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She completed four years of rigorous dermatology training across major teaching hospitals in metropolitan Sydney and regional New South Wales, culminating in her admission as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2014. She is also an International Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr Alexander remains actively involved in medical education, teaching Junior Doctors and Dermatology Registrars, and has been recognised with awards for both her teaching and her research presentations.
