Dr Pamela Weir

Dr Pamela Weir is a highly regarded Consultant Ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care with a reassuring and patient-focused approach. Specialising in both medical and surgical ophthalmology, she is dedicated to preserving and restoring vision for her patients. Dr Weir is committed to delivering personalised treatment plans tailored to the unique clinical needs of each individual, ensuring they receive the highest standard of ophthalmic care.

With a broad range of clinical expertise, Dr Weir has a particular interest in the management of vascular diseases of the retina, including macular degeneration and macular oedema. Her surgical capabilities are extensive, encompassing advanced cataract surgery utilising both standard and premium intraocular lenses. Additionally, she performs sutureless pterygium surgery and various eyelid procedures, including the removal of eyelid tumours and the correction of droopy eyelids. Her comprehensive approach ensures that patients receive thorough care for both complex medical eye conditions and delicate surgical requirements.

Dr Weir graduated with honours from the University of New South Wales in 1987, obtaining her primary medical degree. She then pursued specialist training in Ophthalmology, which included three years of postgraduate training in the United Kingdom. During this time, she obtained her Membership of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 1989. Upon returning to Australia, she undertook further advanced training in systemic and neuro-ophthalmology at a major teaching hospital in Sydney, before completing her formal ophthalmic training at a leading eye hospital in Sydney. In 1996, she was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.
