Upon returning to Australia, she undertook further advanced training in systemic and neuro-ophthalmology at a major teaching hospital in Sydney, before completing her formal ophthalmic training at a leading eye hospital in Sydney. In 1996, she was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.
