Dr Owen Mattern

Mr Owen Mattern is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with a keen interest in conditions affecting the shoulder and elbow as well as general orthopaedic trauma. Mr Mattern specialises in arthroscopy, joint replacement surgery and traumatic conditions affecting these joints.

Mr Mattern graduated from medicine at Newcastle University in 2004 and moved to Melbourne in 2006. He completed the Victorian Orthopaedic training in 2016 and was accepted as a Fellow into the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

Mr Mattern undertook a fellowship at the Sydney Shoulder Research Institute. He then completed an upper limb fellowship at Wrightington Hospital in the United Kingdom. These fellowships have given Mr Mattern experience in the management of complex shoulder, elbow and wrist conditions.
