Dr Neil Hearnden

Dr Neil Hearnden is a highly dedicated General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a strong commitment to promoting health, well-being, and disease prevention, he delivers holistic medical services tailored to the unique needs of each individual. His clinical approach combines thorough diagnostic assessments with compassionate management, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of primary healthcare.

In addition to his work in family medicine, Dr Hearnden has developed advanced expertise in skin cancer medicine and musculoskeletal medicine. As an accredited Skin Cancer Doctor, he possesses specialised skills in the early detection, diagnosis, and surgical management of skin cancers, utilising advanced dermoscopy and performing precise biopsies and excisions. He also holds postgraduate qualifications in musculoskeletal medicine, actively contributing to the field as an educator and advisor on national committees for arthritis and osteoporosis.

Dr Hearnden graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland in 1974. He furthered his academic pursuits by obtaining a Master of Medicine in Skin Cancer Medicine from the same institution, alongside postgraduate diploma qualifications in Musculoskeletal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Throughout his career, Dr Hearnden has held several prominent leadership roles, including serving as a council member for the Queensland branch of the Australian Medical Association, representing his peers on the National Immunisation Committee, and working as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
