Dr Nathan Hayward

Dr Nathan Hayward is a highly qualified Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck Surgeon who provides comprehensive care for both adult and paediatric patients. He specialises in all aspects of general Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgery, with a particular sub-speciality focus on the surgical management of obstructive sleep apnoea, snoring, and sleep-disordered breathing. As one of the few surgeons in Australia to have completed dedicated post-Fellowship training in sleep surgery, Dr Hayward is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, innovative treatments to help patients achieve better sleep and overall health.

Dr Hayward completed his medical training at the University of Sydney, graduating with Honours. Following his internship, surgical residency, and accredited training in general surgery, he completed his specialist training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2019. To further refine his expertise, he undertook advanced sub-speciality training in sleep surgery under the guidance of a world-leading expert in the field, and has visited major sleep surgery clinics in the United States. He is an active Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Hayward is deeply committed to research, innovation, and medical education. He regularly presents at national and international conferences and has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in his field. He also dedicates his time to teaching and mentoring junior doctors and training surgeons. Known for his reassuring and compassionate approach, Dr Hayward understands the anxieties that can accompany surgical procedures, particularly for families with young children. He prioritises clear communication, ensuring that patients and their families are fully informed and supported throughout their treatment journey.
