Dr Monisha Gupta

Dr Monisha Gupta is a highly regarded Dermatologist who provides comprehensive care for conditions affecting the skin, hair, and nails. With a patient-centred and holistic approach, Dr Gupta is dedicated to delivering personalised treatment plans that integrate medical management with tailored advice on diet and lifestyle. Throughout her distinguished career, Dr Gupta has developed a particular interest in medical dermatology, specialising in immune-mediated inflammatory skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis, and hidradenitis suppurativa. She is recognised both nationally and internationally as an expert in phototherapy and pigmentary disorders, including vitiligo, melasma, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Notably, she has pioneered advanced phototherapy protocols and established specialised clinics to offer targeted treatments, such as excimer lamp therapy and innovative, cost-effective surgical procedures for stable vitiligo. Her clinical expertise also extends to the detection and management of skin cancers.

Dr Gupta completed her initial specialist dermatology training in India, qualifying in 1993, before relocating to Australia. Following a comprehensive upskilling programme at major training hospitals in Sydney, she was admitted as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2008. An active contributor to her professional community, she has served in key leadership roles, including as the Director of Training for New South Wales within the college. Her outstanding contributions to the specialty have been recognised with the Certificate of Meritorious Service from the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Alongside her clinical practice, she is an Associate Professor who is deeply involved in teaching, clinical research, and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals.
