Dr Michael Wright

Dr Michael Wright is a dedicated General Practitioner who provides comprehensive care to patients of all ages. He has a strong passion for helping individuals recover from illness and maintain healthy lifestyles through preventive medicine. As a second-generation General Practitioner, Dr Wright values the therapeutic doctor-patient relationship and is committed to delivering high-quality, continuous care that is tailored to the unique needs of each individual.

Dr Wright obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland. He went on to complete his General Practitioner registrar training in Queensland before practising in London, where he earned a Master of Science in Public Health, specialising in Health Economics, from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He later completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Health Economics at the University of Technology Sydney, focusing his research on the impact of continuity of general practice care on patient health outcomes. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Wright is a prominent leader in the medical community. He serves as the President of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and is an Associate Professor at the International Centre for Future Health Systems at the University of New South Wales. His extensive leadership background also includes roles as the Chief Medical Officer of Avant Mutual and the Board Chair of the Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network. Through his academic research and strategic appointments, Dr Wright actively contributes to health policy, aiming to improve the quality, efficiency, and sustainability of primary healthcare services.
