Dr Michael Statham is a highly accomplished Ophthalmologist based in East Toowoomba, Queensland. He graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Optometry with First Class Honours from the Queensland University of Technology, where he was awarded the University Medal. He subsequently completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with First Class Honours at the University of Queensland, once again receiving the University Medal and being named the University of Queensland Graduate of the Year in 2008. Dr Statham completed his specialist training in Ophthalmology and undertook a Monash Fellowship specialising in Cataract Surgery and Medical Retina. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.

In his clinical practice, Dr Statham specialises in cataract surgery and the treatment of macular disorders.
