Dr Michael Ottley

Dr Michael Ottley is a highly qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in the management of adult hip and knee joint disorders. With a patient-centred approach, he offers a comprehensive spectrum of surgical and non-surgical alternatives to address complex joint conditions. Dr Ottley is dedicated to delivering personalised care, helping patients regain mobility and improve their quality of life through advanced orthopaedic techniques.

Dr Ottley obtained his medical degree with Honours from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom, in 2000, where he also completed an intercalated Bachelor of Science with Honours in Pathology. After relocating to Australia, he undertook extensive surgical training and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2010. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association. To further refine his expertise, Dr Ottley completed a prestigious Clinical Fellowship in London, focusing on complex hip and knee reconstructions, joint preservation, and sports injuries.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Ottley is actively involved in medical education and research. He has served as a Senior Lecturer in Orthopaedics, sharing his knowledge with medical students, junior doctors, and training future orthopaedic specialists. His clinical interests encompass a wide range of procedures, including minimally invasive anterior approach hip surgery, hip resurfacing, primary and revision joint replacements, and arthroscopic knee reconstructions.
