Dr Anthony Silva

Dr Anthony Silva is a specialist hip and knee Orthopaedic Surgeon dedicated to providing highly personalised care and achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients. He is one of the only surgeons in South East Queensland to specialise in Direct Anterior Approach (DAA) Robotic Total Hip Replacement and was the first to offer this procedure in Brisbane.

Dr Silva’s surgical philosophy centres on restoring mobility, relieving pain, and empowering patients to regain independence and confidence in their everyday lives. He completed his medical degree at The University of Queensland in 2012, undertook his junior doctor training across hospitals in Queensland and South Australia, and completed his orthopaedic training in Queensland in 2023.

He has further refined his expertise through advanced orthopaedic fellowships in Australia and Canada in 2023 and 2024. During this period, his training focused on Direct Anterior Approach robotic total hip replacement, personalised alignment robotic total and partial knee replacement, complex primary and revision arthroplasty, and a wide range of hip and knee reconstructive procedures.

Dr Silva is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association. He currently serves as Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at The Prince Charles Hospital, a major referral centre for arthroplasty and arthroplasty-related trauma. In this role, he also leads research initiatives within the Orthopaedic Department and contributes to the education and supervision of medical students and junior doctors as a Senior Lecturer at The University of Queensland.
