Dr Michael Hong is a highly qualified Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. Dr Hong completed his undergraduate medical studies at the University of Melbourne, graduating with Honours in 2006. He subsequently undertook specialist training in General Surgery, during which he was awarded prestigious academic prizes for achieving the highest marks in both his written and clinical examinations. After obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, he completed advanced subspecialty training in Colorectal Surgery through the Australia and New Zealand Training Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Additionally, he holds a Doctor of Medical Science, focusing on surgical outcomes, and is an active member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia, maintaining recertification in colonoscopy.

In his clinical practice, Dr Hong has a particular interest in minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic colorectal surgery for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. He is also highly skilled in managing diverticular disease, hernias, and various perianal conditions such as haemorrhoids, anal fistulas, and anal fissures.
