Dr Melissa Manahan

Dr Melissa Manahan is a highly qualified and dedicated Dermatologist who provides comprehensive care for a wide range of skin conditions. With a patient-centred approach, she is committed to delivering personalised treatment plans that address the unique needs of each individual. Dr Manahan has a particular clinical interest in the management of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and is passionate about educating patients and the wider community on effective skin care practices. Her reassuring and professional manner ensures that patients of all ages feel comfortable and well-supported throughout their dermatological journey.

Before embarking on her career in medicine, Dr Manahan worked as a Pharmacist in both community and hospital settings. This foundational background in pharmacology provides her with a deep understanding of the medications and topical treatments used in dermatology. Alongside her clinical practice, she contributes to the advancement of her field as a Senior Lecturer, teaching pharmacy students and fellow healthcare professionals about the management of skin diseases. She also regularly engages with community groups, including schools and seniors, to promote skin health awareness.

Dr Manahan completed her Bachelor of Pharmacy in Queensland, where she was recognised with multiple academic prizes for her outstanding performance. She then went on to obtain her medical degree from The University of Queensland, graduating in 2010 with first-class honours and the prestigious University Medal. During her medical studies, she received several accolades, including prizes in anatomy, surgery, and obstetrics and gynaecology. Dr Manahan completed her specialist dermatology training across Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, qualifying as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2017.
