Dr Melanie Walker

Dr Melanie Walker is a General Surgeon with a special interest in Breast Surgery. They are passionate about providing tailored, up-to-date care and prides themself on providing a calming environment for their patients to put them at ease.

Dr Walker graduated from Monash University in 1994 and trained in General Surgery at The Alfred Hospital, obtaining their FRACS in 2002. They then undertook a further three years of training in Breast Surgery in the UK, training at the Edinburgh Breast Unit and undertaking an Oncoplastic Fellowship year at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit, Glasgow.

It was here that Dr Walker developed their special interest in oncoplastic breast surgery and breast ultrasound. Dr Walker is highly respected amongst their peers, having been elected President of the Society of Breast Surgeons of Australia & New Zealand.

Dr Walker is passionate about providing tailored, up-to-date care and prides themself on providing a calming environment for their patients to put them at ease. They are extremely compassionate toward their patients and always advocates for their needs and wishes.
