Dr Kostas Syrrakos is an experienced Specialist General Surgeon currently seeing patients at Mulgrave Private Hospital, Peninsula Private Hospital and The Bays Hospital. He completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2000, followed by his training at the Alfred Hospital and Eastern Health, and by extensive post-fellowship training in renowned medical centres in London, Athens, and Paris, focusing on advanced laparoscopic and endoscopic techniques. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2014.

Dr Syrrakos specialises in a range of areas, including advanced laparoscopic hernia repair, gallbladder and biliary disease management, minimally invasive approaches to small and large bowel diseases, endoscopy and laparoscopic weight loss solutions. His expertise extends to the advanced management of perianal conditions and a specialised technique for haemorrhoid management known as HAL-RAR. Dr Syrrakos also has specialist expertise in the surgical management of skin lesions, cancers, melanomas, carpal tunnel syndrome, and Dupuytren’s contracture.

Dr Syrrakos strives to provide the highest standard of surgical care to his patients using a personalised and carefully tailored approach. He utilises minimally invasive and cutting-edge surgical techniques, ensuring evidence-based practices for excellent patient outcomes.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Syrrakos annually attends surgical training centres of excellence worldwide. He is an active member of numerous international surgical associations, including General Surgeons Australia, the Gastroenterological Society of Australia, the Obesity Surgery Society of Australia and New Zealand and the Hellenic Medical Society of Australia.
