Dr Matthew Rowe

Dr Matthew Rowe is a highly qualified Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist who provides comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. With a primary focus on heart rhythm disorders, he is dedicated to delivering personalised and reassuring care to help patients manage their cardiac health. His clinical expertise spans the management of complex cardiac devices, including pacemakers and defibrillators, as well as advanced procedures such as cardiac ablation for arrhythmias.

Dr Rowe completed his Bachelor of Science before obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Queensland, graduating in 2009. He completed his general medical training and advanced training in Cardiology at leading tertiary hospitals in Queensland. In 2017, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Following this, Dr Rowe undertook specialised fellowship training in pacing and electrophysiology, followed by advanced international fellowship training at a renowned health sciences centre in Canada, where he focussed on complex cardiac device management and the ablation of atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Rowe is actively involved in medical education and research. He serves as a Senior Lecturer and teaches medical students at major universities in Queensland. As a dedicated researcher, he has published articles in both Australian and international peer-reviewed medical journals on topics such as physiological pacing, atrial fibrillation, and genetically inherited arrhythmias. He is also a member of the Queensland Electrophysiology and Pacing Research Alliance and contributes as an investigator in several national and international clinical trials, ensuring his patients benefit from the latest advancements in cardiac care.
