Dr Sumreen Nawaz

Dr Sumreen Nawaz is a dual-trained Consultant Cardiologist and General Medicine Physician with expertise in preventive cardiology, cardiovascular risk assessment, and the management of complex cardiac and medical conditions. She consults at Complete Health Australia and is recognised for providing comprehensive, culturally sensitive, and patient-centred care.

Dr Nawaz completed her Basic Physician Training at Westmead Hospital before undertaking Advanced Training in both Cardiology and General Medicine at Blacktown Hospital. With more than a decade of experience across tertiary and metropolitan hospitals in New South Wales, she has developed extensive expertise in managing both cardiovascular disease and complex general medical conditions.

Her dual specialist training enables her to provide holistic care, integrating cardiology and general medicine to address the full spectrum of a patient's health needs. She has a particular interest in preventive cardiology, helping patients understand and reduce their long-term cardiovascular risk through evidence-based interventions and lifestyle modification.

Dr Nawaz holds an MBBS degree and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in both Cardiology and General Medicine.

Alongside her clinical work, she maintains an active research interest in preventive cardiology, lipid-lowering therapy, and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. She has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed studies presented at the annual meetings of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and published in the journal Heart, Lung and Circulation. Her research has explored lipid management, cardiovascular risk stratification, coronary artery disease, and preventive strategies in high-risk populations.

Her published work also includes research on atrial fibrillation outcomes and cardiac imaging, with studies appearing in the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography.
