Dr. Matthew Burrage

Dr. Matthew Burrage is a highly accomplished Cardiologist who specialises in advanced cardiac imaging, heart failure, and cardio-oncology. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care, utilising state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques to manage complex cardiovascular conditions. His clinical expertise spans a wide range of non-invasive and invasive procedures, ensuring that patients receive precise diagnoses and tailored treatment plans.

Dr. Burrage completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Queensland in 2010, having previously earned a Bachelor of Science. He completed his specialist cardiology training in Australia in 2017, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Dr. Burrage was subsequently awarded a prestigious British Heart Foundation clinical and research fellowship to undertake a Doctor of Philosophy in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Oxford, focusing on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. He also completed a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Heart Failure at the University of Zürich in Switzerland and undertook further subspecialty training in advanced heart failure and cardiovascular imaging. He is a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Burrage maintains an active research programme as a Senior Lecturer, focusing on novel diagnostic strategies for cardiac amyloidosis and advanced cardiac imaging. His academic contributions have been widely published in leading international scientific journals, and he has received several prestigious global research accolades, including the European Society of Cardiology Young Investigator of the Year Award.
