Dr. Mark Hurworth

Dr. Mark Hurworth is a highly regarded Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Western Australia, specialising in advanced joint replacement and arthroscopic surgery of the hip, knee, and shoulder. With a patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to helping individuals restore their mobility, manage pain, and achieve optimal physical function. Dr. Hurworth is particularly passionate about exploring non-surgical pathways to help patients avoid surgery where possible, as well as optimising recovery outcomes for those who do require surgical intervention.

Dr. Hurworth completed his initial medical training at the University of Cape Town before embarking on his postgraduate surgical pathway. He undertook surgical training in the United Kingdom, obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1999. Following this, he relocated to Australia, where he completed his specialist training in orthopaedic surgery in Perth in 2005. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2006. Dr. Hurworth is also an active member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, having served on the regional Executive Committee.

In his clinical practice, Dr. Hurworth utilises state-of-the-art techniques, including anterior hip replacement, computer-assisted knee replacement, and arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs. His clinical interests also extend to sports-related injuries of the shoulder, hip, and knee.
