Dr Michael Catanach

Dr Michael Catanach is a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon whose practice is dedicated to the intricate field of hand and wrist surgery. After completing his medical degree in 2011, he undertook specialist Orthopaedic training with John Hunter Hospital, the busiest major trauma centre in New South Wales. This demanding clinical environment provided extensive exposure to complex orthopaedic trauma, strengthening his expertise in the assessment and management of challenging injuries and surgical conditions.

Dr Catanach has developed a strong academic foundation alongside his clinical training, completing a Bachelor of Medical Science, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Masters in Surgery and a Graduate Diploma in Advanced Anatomy. His postgraduate studies have complemented his surgical training, with advanced anatomical knowledge supporting his approach to complex procedures involving the hand and wrist.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Catanach remains actively involved in medical education. He regularly teaches medical students and junior doctors in anatomy and surgical techniques, contributing to the development of practical knowledge and surgical skills among the next generation of doctors.
