Dr Mark Danta

Dr Mark Danta is a highly regarded Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist based in Sydney, Australia. He specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver disorders. With a strong commitment to patient-centred care, Dr Danta combines clinical expertise with a compassionate approach to help patients achieve optimal digestive and liver health. His clinical focus encompasses inflammatory bowel diseases, coeliac disease, chronic liver diseases, and viral hepatitis.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Danta is an active Clinical Academic and Associate Professor. He is deeply involved in medical research, particularly in the areas of gut health, the microbiome, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. His research contributions ensure that his patients have access to the latest evidence-based treatment options. Dr Danta completed his Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Newcastle in 1992, followed by a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the University of London in 1996. He went on to obtain a Master of Public Health with Honours from the University of Sydney in 2000. Dr Danta completed his specialist training in Gastroenterology in Sydney and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2002. He then undertook advanced clinical training in Hepatology in London, subsequently completing a Doctor of Medicine at University College London in 2006.
