Dr Margaret Layton

Dr Margaret Layton is a highly regarded Endocrinologist who provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of endocrine-related disorders. Based on the Central Coast of New South Wales, she is dedicated to diagnosing and managing complex hormonal conditions with a patient-centred approach. Her clinical focus spans general endocrinology, with particular expertise in diabetes management, thyroid diseases, and osteoporosis. Dr Layton completed her medical degree at the University of Tasmania. Following her graduation, she undertook specialist fellowship training to qualify as an Endocrinologist, subsequently engaging in dedicated research focusing on diabetes. She has established herself as a leader in her field, serving as the Head of the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism for the local health district. Additionally, she has been instrumental in clinical developments within the region, including contributing to the establishment of a local osteoporosis refracture prevention clinic and participating actively in multidisciplinary cancer care teams, particularly for thyroid cancer.
