Dr Marcela Cox

Dr Marcela Cox is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a strong focus on family medicine, she is committed to supporting patients through all stages of life. Her clinical approach is reassuring and thorough, ensuring that individuals and families receive the highest standard of medical attention. Dr Cox has developed a particular interest in women's health, preventative medicine, and paediatric care, helping her patients achieve optimal long-term health outcomes.

Dr Cox graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Sydney in 1990, obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Following her initial hospital training, she pursued specialised training in General Practice. She holds a Diploma of Child Health from the University of Sydney, a Family Planning Certificate, and a Certificate of Advanced Training in Women's Health from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). Notably, she was awarded a prestigious medal for achieving the highest mark in her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) examinations. Dr Cox remains actively involved in maintaining professional standards within her field, having served as a Censor for the RACGP New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory Faculty between 2010 and 2017, and she continues to contribute as a Quality Assurance Examiner.

In her daily practice, Dr Cox offers expert guidance on a wide range of health concerns. She is highly experienced in managing women's health issues, including gynaecological concerns, menopause management, and contraceptive advice. She is certified to perform clinical procedures such as the insertion of intrauterine devices (IUDs) and contraceptive implants. Additionally, Dr Cox provides comprehensive antenatal shared care, supporting expectant mothers throughout their pregnancy journeys. Her expertise also extends to infant and child health, where she delivers gentle and reassuring care to younger patients, alongside proactive preventative health strategies for the entire family.
