Dr Marc Wei is a highly accomplished Ophthalmologist and Specialist Laser and Cataract Surgeon who is dedicated to providing exceptional eye care. Dr Wei is widely recognised as a pioneer in the field of refractive and lens surgery, utilising state-of-the-art technologies to help patients achieve optimal visual outcomes and restore their quality of life.

Dr Wei completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland Medical School, graduating in 1989. He then undertook comprehensive specialist training in ophthalmology at several major teaching hospitals, culminating in his Fellowship of Ophthalmology in 1998. To further refine his expertise, he completed advanced subspecialty fellowship training in glaucoma, cataract, and paediatric ophthalmology at leading paediatric and ophthalmic institutions in the United Kingdom. Dr Wei is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO). He also holds professional memberships with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the European Society of Refractive and Cataract Surgeons, and the Australasian Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr Wei has established himself at the forefront of ophthalmic innovation. He was among the earliest pioneers of toric and multifocal lens technologies for cataract surgery and was the first surgeon in his region to be accredited for laser-assisted cataract surgery. His clinical interests also encompass the management of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal detachment. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Wei is actively involved in ophthalmic research, regularly presenting at international conferences, and contributes his time to medical education and international eye care programmes aimed at treating blindness in developing nations.
