Dr. Luke Mooney

Dr. Luke Mooney is a highly qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon who is dedicated to improving his patients' quality of life through advanced bone and joint care. With a primary focus on restoring comfort and mobility, he specialises in joint replacement and arthroscopic joint preservation surgery. Dr. Mooney is committed to providing a highly personalised level of care, ensuring that he personally guides each patient through every stage of their treatment journey, from the initial consultation to the final recovery.

His clinical practice is particularly focused on hip and knee surgery, where he utilises state-of-the-art robotic technology to achieve precise surgical outcomes. Dr. Mooney's areas of expertise include robotic-assisted hip and knee replacements, direct anterior approach hip replacements, and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions. Additionally, he performs arthroscopic meniscal surgery, revision hip and knee surgeries, and shoulder procedures, aiming to provide effective pain relief and restore optimal joint function for active and working-age individuals.

Dr. Mooney completed his medical education at the University of Adelaide, obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2007. He completed advanced orthopaedic training and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association in 2016. To further refine his skills, he undertook extensive post-fellowship training, including a Robotic Surgery Fellowship in Perth, an arthroplasty fellowship, and an International Arthroplasty Fellowship in Vancouver, Canada. He is also a Clinical Senior Lecturer, a National Surgeon Trainer in robotic-assisted surgery, and a former President of the South Australian Sports Medicine Association.
