Dr Lauren Tapper

Dr Lauren Tapper is a dedicated and compassionate Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care. With a warm and reassuring approach, she focuses on building meaningful, long-term relationships with her patients. Dr Tapper supports women through every stage of their reproductive journey, offering comprehensive care from pre-pregnancy planning, through pregnancy and labour, and into the postpartum period. As a mother herself, she deeply understands the importance of ensuring that parents feel respected, supported, and heard throughout the birthing process, striving to align patient wishes with evidence-based medical practices.

Dr Tapper completed her undergraduate Science degree at the University of Melbourne before earning her medical degree (MBBS) from the University of Queensland in 2007. Committed to advancing her expertise, she also completed a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). Dr Tapper has undertaken extensive training across various major health services, including working as a Fellow within a perinatal unit where she gained unique experience in ultrasound and delivering care in high-risk pregnancies. Her dedication to global women's health is further highlighted by her time spent providing obstetric education and training in northern Papua New Guinea. She also holds public appointments as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

In addition to her obstetric practice, Dr Tapper provides expert gynaecological care for women of all ages. She manages a broad spectrum of gynaecological concerns, with particular clinical interests in contraception, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, and menopause. She also offers specialist support for patients experiencing infertility and performs colposcopies for the management of abnormal cervical screening tests. Dr Tapper combines her clinical expertise with a gentle, reassuring manner to ensure her patients feel comfortable and empowered when making decisions about their health.
