About Dr Kiran Kalian
Dr Kiran Kalian is a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 30 years of clinical and academic experience across two continents. He is the Director and Founder of SAMSARA and admits private patients at Epworth Eastern Hospital in Box Hill, Victoria. Accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), Dr Kalian is known for his expertise in gynaecological surgery, particularly minimally invasive procedures.
He has worked extensively in both public and private practice, as well as in tertiary academic settings. Dr Kalian currently holds the role of Senior Consultant at Eastern Health, where he leads education within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In this role, he is involved in both theoretical and practical training of junior doctors and specialist trainees, and he also serves as an examiner for RANZCOG.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Kalian is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Eastern Clinical School and Monash University’s Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. His strong commitment to surgical education is matched by his interest in cost-effective, evidence-based procedures that can be performed in office-based settings.
Dr Kalian is a life member and former board member of the International Society for Gynaecologic Endoscopy and continues to be actively involved in professional societies that advance the field of women's health.

My visit was very comfortable and my privacy respected. He's a very nice person. 🙂
It’s embarrassing enough with female issues but I felt at ease at all times. Dr Kalian was very professional and made the whole process easy. He explains everything well and I felt very comfortable throughout the appointments and surgery and then the follow up as well. I would definitely recommended him to family and friends in need of a gyno and felt so much happier than dealing with my previous lady doctor gyno.
Knowledgeable. Happy to explain options and address concerns. Telehealth is great to provide access to specialists.
I was referred to Dr. Kiran Kalian after multiple visits to GP's and gynecologists trying to find out what was happening to me. Finally, my current GP referred me to Dr. Kiran Kalian and found out i was experiencing perimenopausal symptoms. I'm so grateful that Dr. Kiran saw me and helped/helping me.

Dr Kalian operated on me removing a large cyst both ovaries and fallopian tubes over a year ago had the best experience and no problems and he makes me feel comfortable happy to answer any questions and explains things if I’m not sure. I’ve had to see him again twice with a different problem mole lesion on vulva suspected cancer and he asked how things are going and he also reassures me not to worry and will keep monitoring my situation again in 6 months time and to enjoy my holiday.
