Her clinical interests span a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, such as ischaemic heart disease, lipid disorders, heart failure, cardiomyopathies, and valvular heart disease. Additionally, she specialises in sports and occupational cardiology, with specific training in aviation medicine. In this capacity, she works to assess and maintain the cardiovascular fitness of individuals in high-demand occupations, including aviation professionals and defence force personnel.
Dr Stanton completed her specialist training in Cardiology in 2014 at a prominent teaching hospital in Sydney, subsequently completing a dedicated fellowship in cardiac MRI. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and was awarded the prestigious Bryan Hudson Medal in 2011 for achieving the highest results in her specialist examinations across Australia and New Zealand. Driven by a passion for clinical research, she completed her PhD at the University of Sydney, where she investigated the effects of exercise on cardiometabolic health, atherosclerosis, and cardiac remodelling in both elite athletes and occupational cohorts.
