Dr Katherine Strawson

Dr Katherine Strawson is a highly dedicated Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based in Brisbane, Australia. She is deeply passionate about empowering women to understand their bodies and make informed decisions that align with their unique needs, family goals, and lifestyles. Dr Strawson provides holistic, evidence-based care designed to ease the challenges and uncertainties that many expectant mothers and their partners face, ensuring they feel fully supported throughout their healthcare journey. With extensive expertise in minimally invasive surgery, Dr Strawson specialises in laparoscopic procedures, including laparoscopic hysterectomies and the surgical removal of endometriosis. Her clinical interests also encompass preconception care, fertility management, colposcopy, and the treatment of abnormal cervical screening results. She has a particular focus on adolescent gynaecology and the management of chronic pelvic pain. As an Obstetrician, she is committed to a woman-centred approach to pregnancy and birth, possessing significant experience in managing high-risk pregnancies, multiple births, preterm deliveries, and vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC).

Dr Strawson holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). Committed to medical education and the advancement of her field, she serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and has previously served as a Simulation Fellow to improve systems of care. Dr Strawson is an active member of several professional organisations, including the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society (AGES) and the Queensland Pelvic Pain Network (QPPPN), and holds an International Fellowship in Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology (IFEPAG).
