Dr Kate Stone

Dr Kate Stone is a highly accomplished Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who specialises in advanced obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound imaging. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, she is dedicated to providing high-quality diagnostic care for women at all stages of life. Her clinical focus spans a broad range of areas, including adolescent and paediatric gynaecology imaging, the assessment of high-risk pregnancies, and the specialised detection of complex conditions such as endometriosis and adenomyosis.

Throughout her career, Dr Stone has actively contributed to advancements in medical imaging. She has undertaken international clinical work to refine her expertise, collaborating with leading global teams in Brazil to study advanced ultrasound techniques for endometriosis classification and surgical planning. Additionally, her interest in foetal neurology led her to study in Israel, after which she established a dedicated clinic to provide co-ordinated, patient-focused perinatal care. She is also a key figure in the medical community, having co-founded a regional interest group to foster education and research in foetal neurology and serving on organising committees for obstetric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) conferences.

Dr Stone completed her medical degree in 1997 at a prominent teaching hospital in Melbourne, where she was awarded the RM Biggin's Prize in clinical medicine and nominated for the Jamieson award. She went on to complete her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology, achieving the prestigious gold medal for the highest mark in her college examinations in 2003, and completed her subspecialist qualification in 2007. Dr Stone holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG), and holds a Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU) and a Certificate of Obstetric and Gynaecological Ultrasound (COGU). She is also an active member of the Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia and the SAFE endometriosis network.
