Dr Samuel Soo

Dr Samuel Soo is a Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist Fertility and IVF Specialist based in Melbourne. He is the Clinical Director of Melbourne IVF and is an expert in female and male infertility and IVF, endometriosis, fibroids, advanced laparoscopic surgery, tubal surgery and modern obstetric care. He also consults with patients in Mandarin if needed.

Dr Soo is also recognised as one of Australia's leading surgeons and pioneers in the management of fibroids, endometriosis and tubal disease. He provides personalised fertility care for individuals and couples, with expertise in advanced maternal age, fertility preservation and egg freezing, recurrent miscarriage, fibroids, myomectomy, endometriosis, polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome /polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), donor treatment, male infertility, genetic testing, minimally invasive gynaecological surgery and IVF.

After graduating from Monash University in 1997, Dr Soo completed specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash Medical Centre and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. He subsequently undertook an Advanced Gynaecological Laparoscopic Fellowship with the Sydney West Advanced Pelvic Surgery Unit before being appointed Clinical Superintendent at Westmead Hospital, where he managed high-risk pregnancies and complex gynaecological and fertility conditions and surgery. He also completed his IVF and fertility training at Westmead Fertility Centre.

Dr Soo later became the first Level 6 Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon at Westmead Hospital before returning to Melbourne. He is currently a Senior Consultant at the Royal Women's Hospital and practises at Melbourne IVF and St Vincent's Private Hospital. Alongside his clinical practice, he serves as the Senior Training Supervisor for the Advanced Laparoscopic Surgical Fellowship at the Royal Women's Hospital, where he is dedicated to educating the next generation of gynaecological specialists and surgeons.

Dr Soo's private pratice has a dedicated team of nurses, midwives and adminstartion staff for his pateints and he works closely with many of his colleagues to achieve a modern and complete appraoch to effective care for his patients.
