Dr Julian Yu

Dr Julian Yu is a highly regarded, board-certified, Australian-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in conditions of the hip and knee, as well as general trauma surgery. He is dedicated to providing modern, evidence-based care, utilising the latest technological advancements to achieve optimal outcomes for his patients. With a reassuring and professional approach, Dr Yu focuses on restoring mobility and improving the quality of life for individuals experiencing joint pain, sports injuries, or traumatic fractures.

In his clinical practice, Dr Yu has a strong focus on advanced robotic-assisted joint replacement surgery for both the hip and knee, including primary and revision procedures. He is an early adopter of cutting-edge robotic technology, which allows for highly precise implant positioning tailored to each patient's unique anatomy. Additionally, Dr Yu is highly proficient in performing arthroscopic knee surgery, employing minimally invasive and muscle-preserving techniques for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions and meniscus repairs. His expertise also extends to managing complex trauma and fractures affecting all extremities, ensuring comprehensive care for acute injuries.

Dr Yu completed his medical degree (Bachelor of Medicine) at the University of Newcastle, graduating in 2006. He subsequently undertook Specialist Orthopaedic training in Sydney, qualifying as one of the youngest in his cohort. To further refine his skills, he completed two years of sub-specialised fellowship training in hip and knee surgery, both locally in Sydney and internationally in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, and Lyon, France. Dr Yu is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA).
