Dr Jonathon Keenan

Dr Jonathon Keenan is a highly qualified and dedicated Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon based in Queensland, Australia. He provides comprehensive care for both adult and paediatric patients, addressing a wide range of conditions affecting the face, mouth, and jaws. Dr Keenan's extensive academic background spans both medicine and dentistry. He completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Griffith University before earning his medical degree (MBBS) from Bond University in 2009. He subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Dental Science with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland, where he was awarded the George Christensen Memorial Prize for the highest overall mark in oral surgery. Furthering his academic pursuits, he completed a Master of Science in Trauma Science through the Queen Mary University of London, focusing his research on the utilisation of three-dimensional printing for orbital fracture management. Dr Keenan completed his advanced surgical training through the Queensland Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training programme and was awarded his Specialty Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (FRACDS(OMS)) in 2021.

In his clinical practice, Dr Keenan manages a broad spectrum of oral and maxillofacial conditions. His areas of expertise include wisdom teeth extraction, dental implant surgery, corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), and the management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. He is also highly skilled in treating facial trauma, oral pathology, and facial deformities. Alongside his private practice, Dr Keenan holds public hospital appointments where he actively contributes to training the next generation of Surgeons. He is also an internationally published Researcher, contributing valuable literature to the fields of facial trauma, oral pathology, and the integration of advanced technologies in facial surgery.
