About Dr Amish Patel
Dr. Amish Patel is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with extensive training and expertise in advanced surgical techniques. He completed his initial training in Dentistry at the University of Manchester in 2001 and his Medical degree at Barts in 2010, both in the United Kingdom. Dr. Patel moved to Australia in 2011, where he undertook advanced specialist training in Victoria.
Dr. Patel has enriched his expertise through two years of subspecialty fellowship training, focusing on Orthognathic Surgery at Royal Melbourne Hospital, TMJ Surgery at St. Vincent’s Hospital, and Head and Neck Oncology at Oxford University Hospital in the UK.
Since relocating to the Geelong region in 2018, Dr. Patel has contributed to both public and private healthcare sectors. He holds appointments at University Hospital Geelong, Western Hospitals, and The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne. His practice spans all facets of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including facial trauma, deformity correction, implantology, and wisdom teeth surgery. He employs modern technologies, such as computer-assisted 3D planning, to optimise patient outcomes in implant, orthognathic, and TMJ surgeries.

He serves as a Supervisor of Training for OMFS Registrars and is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Charles Sturt University. His research interests include analysing risk factors impacting health behaviours in surgeons and the use of botulinum injections for treating myofascial TMJ pain.

Had to have an emergency molar extraction. Amish was so accommodating in every aspect. His kindness and extreme skill ended with the easiest, most painless dental work I’ve ever had done. The follow up was just as good with the receptionist and nurse showing real friendliness with nothing too hard for them. Thank you Amish so much.
