Dr Joanna Walton

Dr Joanna Walton is a highly qualified and fellowship-trained Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgeon who provides comprehensive care for both adult and paediatric patients. She specialises in disorders of the ear and the surgical correction of hearing loss, including advanced implantable hearing technologies. Dedicated to delivering compassionate and reassuring care, Dr Walton focuses on improving health outcomes for patients of all ages, with a particular interest in addressing complex ear conditions and childhood ear diseases.

Dr Walton graduated with honours from the University of New South Wales medical programme in 1998. She subsequently completed her specialist surgical training in Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery, whilst also earning a Master of Surgery from the University of Sydney. In 2009, she was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. To further refine her expertise, Dr Walton completed a highly competitive international fellowship in ear and hearing implantation surgery at a prestigious otology and skull base unit in Cambridge, United Kingdom. She is an active member of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.

Throughout her career, Dr Walton has maintained a strong commitment to academic research, publishing numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at national and international conferences. Her dedication to public service and healthcare access is reflected in her past work in developing nations, including serving as an Australian Youth Ambassador in Vietnam, as well as her ongoing efforts to improve ear health in Indigenous communities. Outside of her clinical practice, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, surfing, and skiing.
