Dr Jessica O'Brien

Dr Jessica O'Brien is a highly qualified Cardiologist and Cardiac Imaging Specialist based in Melbourne, Australia. She provides comprehensive, patient-centred care, specialising in general cardiology and non-invasive cardiac imaging. With a reassuring and professional approach, Dr O'Brien is dedicated to helping patients understand their cardiovascular health, ensuring they are fully informed about diagnostic testing and personalised treatment pathways.

Dr O'Brien graduated with Honours from a leading university in Melbourne in 2009. Following her medical degree, she completed her basic Physician training and advanced training in cardiology at a major tertiary referral hospital. She subsequently undertook a specialised fellowship in cardiac imaging, focusing on advanced diagnostic modalities. Dr O'Brien is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr O'Brien is actively involved in medical research and community advocacy. As an Aboriginal woman, she is deeply committed to improving health outcomes for Indigenous communities and serves as an Aboriginal Medical Advisor. Her research focuses on utilising advanced cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to improve the diagnosis of acute rheumatic fever and prevent the progression of rheumatic heart disease.
