Dr Jennifer Yu

Dr Jennifer Yu is a highly accomplished Cardiologist who provides comprehensive care in general and interventional cardiology. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, she specialises in diagnosing and managing a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. Her clinical focus encompasses coronary artery disease, preventative cardiology, and heart disease in women. Dr Yu is also deeply interested in non-traditional cardiovascular risk factors, such as obesity, and is dedicated to helping patients achieve optimal heart health through tailored treatment strategies.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Yu is a dedicated researcher and academic, holding a position as a Conjoint Associate Professor. Her research interests include interventional cardiology, secondary prevention, technology in healthcare, and clinical trials. She has contributed extensively to medical literature, publishing numerous original manuscripts in high-impact journals and authoring several book chapters. Her doctoral research specifically examined bleeding complications and reduction strategies for patients undergoing cardiac treatments and interventions, reflecting her commitment to improving patient safety and clinical outcomes.

Dr Yu completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales, qualifying in 2004. She subsequently undertook her basic physician training and specialist training in cardiology within a major metropolitan hospital network. To further her expertise, she completed postgraduate fellowships in clinical research and interventional cardiology at a prestigious medical institution in New York in 2012 and 2013, where she was recognised with an award for excellence. She also completed her PhD in 2020. Dr Yu is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (FCSANZ).
