Dr Fady Zaky

Dr Fady Zaky is an Interventional and Structural Cardiologist with expertise in coronary and structural heart disease. His special clinical interests include complex coronary artery interventions and structural heart disease, with a focus on percutaneous valve interventions including transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), mitral and tricuspid transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER), and atrial septal defect (ASD) and patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure.

Dr Zaky graduated from the University of Sydney with honours degrees in Pharmacy and Medicine and also holds a Master’s in Clinical Epidemiology. He completed his specialty training before undertaking a fellowship in interventional cardiology, where he developed expertise in a range of complex coronary interventional techniques. He subsequently completed a two-year fellowship in structural heart disease intervention under Professor John Webb in Vancouver, Canada, developing expertise in advanced procedures including TAVI, mitral and tricuspid valve repair, ASD and PFO closure and other structural interventions.

Dr Zaky has extensive experience in percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), including complex coronary procedures. He uses evidence-based techniques including advanced intracoronary imaging, coronary physiology analysis and calcium modification technologies. His expertise in structural cardiology also includes minimally invasive valve repair and replacement techniques for valvular heart disease.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Zaky is involved in education, mentoring trainees and presenting at national and international conferences. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, particularly in the fields of coronary artery disease and structural heart interventions. His approach encompasses both preventive cardiology and the interventional treatment of advanced cardiac conditions.
