Dr Janet Widmer is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. Dr Widmer completed her medical training at The University of Sydney, earning her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Committed to expanding her clinical expertise, she also obtained a Master of Medicine in Medical Acupuncture from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Additionally, she holds a postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Dr Widmer is a Fellow of both the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian Medical Acupuncture College. She also maintains active professional memberships with the Australasian Metabolic Health Society and the Australasian Menopause Society.

Throughout her career as a General Practitioner, Dr Widmer has developed diverse clinical interests, with a strong focus on women's health, paediatrics, and complementary medicine. She specialises in managing chronic diseases, administering iron infusions, and providing sexual health services. As a certified medical acupuncturist, she frequently integrates acupuncture as an evidence-based adjunct therapy to support patient recovery and pain management. Outside of her medical practice, Dr Widmer is an accomplished cellist who regularly performs with both the Australian Doctors Orchestra and the New South Wales Doctors Orchestra.
