Dr Jane Susan Strong

Dr Jane Susan Strong is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages. With a career spanning several decades across Tasmania and South Australia, Dr Strong has established herself as a reassuring and trusted medical professional. She is deeply committed to delivering patient-centred care, ensuring that individuals and families receive the support and guidance necessary to manage their health journeys effectively.

Throughout her distinguished career, Dr Strong has developed a broad range of clinical interests, with a particular focus on family medicine. Her areas of expertise include women's health, antenatal and postnatal care, paediatrics, and sexual health. Additionally, she is highly skilled in managing chronic diseases, addressing mental health concerns, and treating various skin conditions. Dr Strong also performs minor surgical procedures and is passionate about adult preventative medicine and care of the elderly, helping patients maintain their independence and well-being as they age.

Dr Strong graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Newcastle in 1989. Alongside her clinical practice, she is actively involved in the education and development of the next generation of medical professionals, regularly teaching and mentoring medical students and General Practice Registrars. Her extensive clinical knowledge and dedication to medical education reflect her commitment to maintaining high standards of healthcare delivery.

Outside of her clinical and teaching responsibilities, Dr Strong enjoys a variety of personal pursuits. She is an avid bushwalker and swimmer, and she also enjoys reading and cinema. Demonstrating her lifelong passion for learning, she is currently teaching herself French.
