Dr James Walker is a highly regarded Consultant Ophthalmologist based in Maroochydore, Australia. Dr Walker is a comprehensive Ophthalmic Physician and Surgeon who manages a diverse range of eye conditions, utilising advanced diagnostic techniques and the latest surgical innovations to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Dr Walker completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Adelaide, graduating in 1994. He went on to undertake specialist training in Ophthalmology in South Australia, qualifying as an Ophthalmologist in 2002. To further refine his skills, he completed advanced training fellowships at prestigious eye institutions in London and Oxford, gaining full recognition as an Ophthalmologist in the United Kingdom, and pursued further clinical training in Chicago. Dr Walker is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO).

Throughout his career, Dr Walker has maintained a strong interest in clinical education and community service. He has served in leadership roles within public ophthalmic services on the Sunshine Coast, including as a Director of Ophthalmology, and regularly provides visiting specialist services and training to rural and remote communities. Additionally, he volunteers his time to provide in-country training for eye specialists in developing nations.
