Dr James Thomas

Dr James Thomas is a highly dedicated Consultant General Paediatrician who provides comprehensive medical care for infants, children, and adolescents. He is committed to supporting the health and development of young patients, offering expert guidance from the newborn stage through to eighteen years of age. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, Dr Thomas works closely with families to address a wide range of general paediatric concerns and promote long-term well-being.

In his clinical practice, Dr Thomas focuses on a broad spectrum of paediatric health issues. He has a particular interest in developmental and behavioural paediatrics, helping families navigate challenges such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and learning difficulties. Additionally, he provides expert management for physical health and growth concerns, including feeding issues, nutrition, and bladder and bowel problems. His holistic approach ensures that both the physical and developmental needs of each child are thoroughly addressed.

Dr Thomas completed his medical training at the University of New South Wales, where he obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BS) in 1995. He went on to complete advanced training in paediatrics, achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2005. Committed to evidence-based practice, he also earned a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology from Newcastle University in 2007. He maintains active professional membership as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
