Dr Ahmed Moustafa

Dr Ahmed Moustafa is a dual-trained specialist in Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine and General Paediatrics. He is a Staff Specialist Neonatologist at the Grace Centre for Newborn Intensive Care, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and a Visiting Medical Officer at Mater Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital.

His work spans complex newborn care, prematurity, advanced neonatal resuscitation, care from birth, neonatal consultation and follow-up after neonatal intensive care or hospital discharge. He also reviews infants and children with feeding or growth concerns, unsettled infancy and early or complex medical issues.

Dr Moustafa contributes to research, clinical education and system-wide improvement in neonatal outcomes. Through the Australian and New Zealand Neonatal Surgical Network, he has contributed to benchmarking and quality improvement for high-risk surgical newborns across Australia and New Zealand. He serves on the Editorial Board for Neonatology of the Journal of Paediatrics and Child Health.

He founded Neo2Paeds to provide considered specialist assessment, clear communication and continuity of care from the newborn period through childhood. Appointments are available by telehealth and in person. Telehealth is an integral part of the specialist consultation model.
